The Pietà (1498–1499)
- housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City
- This famous work of art depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion

The Statue of David (1501-1504)
- The statue represents the Biblical hero David
- represents the defeat of Goliath(Greek myth)
- David's pose not really obvious that he's heroic

- The first mass in the Sistine Chapel was celebrated on August 9, 1483
